T&C’s and Cancellation Policy

General

By making a payment or agreeing to a quote, you are acknowledging acceptance of the Terms and Conditions and cancellation policy outlined on this page. MG Cake.Design reserves the right to use photos of the products supplied or personal photos shared with me for promotional purposes without compensation. These terms and conditions and my cancellation policy may be updated at any time, without prior notice.

Terms & Conditions (T&Cs) for Cake and Confection Orders:

  • Order Timing
    A minimum notice of two weeks is required for wedding cake orders and one week for confections and celebration cakes. Orders placed with less notice are subject to availability and may incur an expedited fee.
  • Payment 
    Orders above €1000: A 50% deposit payment is required within 14 days to secure your delivery date and confirm the order. The remaining 50% is due six weeks before the delivery or collection date. Full payment can be made earlier if you wish.
    Orders below €1000: payment is due within 14 days of receiving the invoice, unless a shorter ordering notice is given, then payment is due within 48 hours of receiving the invoice. Failure to complete payment within the date stated on invoice may result in your order not being fulfilled and / or being cancelled.
  • Alterations
    Any alterations to the original order must be confirmed in writing and may be subject to additional charges. Alterations can be made up to two weeks before the delivery or collection date for wedding cakes and up to one week for confections and celebration cake orders.
  • Design
    Each cake is handmade to order and therefore minor variations to signature designs in colours and decorations can occur.
  • Delivery & Collection
    Delivery charges are calculated by distance and will be included in the final quote. If opting for collection, cakes must be collected at the agreed-upon time and day. Any delays in collection may result in storage fees. Detailed instructions on storage, shelf life, and dietary information will be provided with your order.
  • Allergies & Dietary Requirements
    While every effort is made to cater to specific dietary needs, the kitchen handles allergens and cross-contamination (traces) cannot be 100% ruled out. It is the client’s responsibility to inform of any allergies or dietary requirements at the time of ordering.
  • Damages
    In the unlikely event that your order arrives damaged, it is the client’s responsibility to report the damage in writing with photographic evidence within 24 hours if you wish to claim a refund or replacement. Upon delivery or collection, MG Cake.Design requires a signature on the delivery note to confirm that the order has been received in perfect condition. No liability for orders that have been damaged after delivery to the agreed location or collected, can be accepted afterwards. Cakes and confections are fragile goods. Please pay attention to the instructions provided upon delivery or collection to ensure the product(s) are handled with attention and care.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations by Client
    If you need to cancel your order, please notify us as soon as possible.
    The following refund policy applies:
    - More than 6 weeks before the event: Full refund, minus €45 administration fee.
    - Less than 6 weeks before the event: 50% refund and full return of delivery fee which may have been charged.
    - Less than 2 weeks before the event: No refund.
  • Cancellations by MG Cake.Design
    In the unlikely event that I need to cancel your order, you will be notified immediately, and a full refund, including the deposit, will be provided.
  • Force Majeure
    Neither party shall be liable for any failure to perform due to unforeseen circumstances or causes beyond their reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, wars, terrorism, riots, embargoes, acts of civil or military authorities, fires, floods, storms, pandemics or accidents.

Complaints

If you wish to make a complaint or have a concern, please get in touch via maxie@mgcake.design at the earliest possible moment. Complaints are dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
